BIG TED CIRCA 1950s  BRITISH TEDDY BEAR .
VINTAGE Teddy Bear from the Estate of John McBride.

British "Big Ted" Circa 1950s Teddy Bear.
He is wearing an authentic gypsy vest in burgundy velvet with extensive gold embroidery and embossing.
A large bear, fully jointed. Approx. 30 inches tall.

British Big Ted was purchased by John McBride back in the 1980's when the BBC TV had their auction of props and toys from the 1950's Watch With Mother TV series. This was one of the bears who played Big Ted in a TV show. The gypsy vest is a beautiful antique, frail and fragile (see close-up photos), and was from an antique clothing shop and his vintage tambourine was one of the toys from the English Museum. The vintage 1950s tin toy tambourine has a little blue logo in a circle on the front that reads "US Metal Toy Mfg Co Made In U.S.A."
