Description
This small wooden cigar box was made to hold Bering Coronas, which were being sold for 30 cents each. The lithographed image on the top and inside lid shows Vitus Bering, the Danish navigator who found the Bering Strait. Alaska is on one side of his portrait with Asia on the other. The tax stamp indicates it was sold after 1953. It measure 6"wide x 3-3/4" deep x 3-3/8" high. There is some staining and paper loss primarily on the outside but the color is still good.
