    Description

VINTAGE 1950’s HEAVY PORCELAIN WHITE ENAMEL WITH BLUE TRIM RIM KIDNEY SHAPED PAN EMESIS BASIN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT CONDITION USED
    This Vintage
Heavy Porcelain White Enamel with Blue Rim Kidney Shaped Pan Emesis Basin
Medical Equipment. Condition is Used. A kidney dish (British English) or Emesis Basin (American English) is a shallow basin with a kidney-shaped base and sloping walls used in medical and surgical wards to receive soiled
dressing and other medical waste. The version of this kidney dish was invented by Bessie Virginia Blount. Measures Approx. 4” wide x 8 ½” long. Great addition to any collection. A piece of medical history. We use to get something like in the hospital that was plastic and now they just give you a plastic throw up bag.
See pictures because this has been dropped, washed and handled many times because it shows wear and tear but it is still good for another 100+ uses. If necessary, could be used for a succulent plant so you could see the dish and the plant inside. American History. Has a million uses.
