    Description

    Track rubber
    from Peco
Abrasive rubber block for burnishing the rail surface and ensures good electrical contact)p>
This useful tool should never be far from your layout! About the same size as a normal pencil rubber, but much less bendy, it performs an essential maintenance task, that of cleaning your track. p>
It is used in much the same way as a pencil rubber, but rather than erasing your writing mistakes, it removes dirt from your track. Simply place on your track flat side down, and rub backwards and forwards to effectively remove the dirt that stops your locomotives running reliably. p>
It is ideal for targeting those areas where dirt has built up. When there are structures or scenery close to the track you want to clean, use the rubber lengthways on the track. When there is more room at the side of the track, use it across the track so there is more leeway before you miss the rails! p>
Ideally, to complete the job, you should use a gentle vacuum cleaner to pick up any particles that the rubber may leave on the baseboard between the rails.
