  • Condition: One of a Kind. Antique Wood Cigar Box OUR BOOM 1883 Blue Henry Clay TAX STAMP/Henry Leady MFG. The box measures 8 inches long 5 inches wide and 1 and ¾ inches deep. The exterior of the box is nailed together at the corners. The band on the top left of the lid is very faint and difficult to read however I can make out the words UNION MADE CIGARS and see a small seal. On the far right of the lid is a March 1883 Blue Henry Clay Tax Stamp.

    Description

    Antique Wood Cigar Box OUR BOOM 1883 Blue Henry Clay TAX STAMP/Henry Leady MFG. The box measures 8 inches long 5 inches wide and 1 and ¾ inches deep. The exterior of the box is nailed together at the corners. The band on the top left of the lid is very faint and difficult to read however I can make out the words UNION MADE CIGARS and see a small seal. On the far right of the lid is a March 1883 Blue Henry Clay Tax Stamp. The lid has the words OUR BOOM on a banner, an eagle holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, a Federal shield and a shining star. Also printed on the lid is FACT No 96 13 DIST ILL S 50. The interior of the lid has a beautiful intact picture of OUR BOOM on a banner with flowers above and below it. In the top left corner is a picture of a farmer plowing a field and the bottom right depicts miners in a coal mine complete with red shirts, lighted head gear and pick axes. The back wall of the box has HENRY LEADY MANUFACTURER ALTON, ILLINOIS. The lid closes completely with no warping. This beautiful cigar box is in really good condition considering its age.
