    Description

    Grueby earthenware vase with crisp modeling of 5 leaves and well fired melon green glaze.  Note the pooled glaze coverage at neck above leaves with thiner glaze on the leaves allowing their texture to show as illustrated by the photos. Impressed 'Grueby Faience Co Boston U.S.A' or 'Grueby Pottery Boston U.S.A.' mark on underside of vase, which is filled and obscured by fired glaze.  Vase is 3 inches in height and 3 1/2" in diameter at shoulder.
