Creating the realism of wood is a classic technique that for decades, artists have attempted to replicate on nearly everything from faux-finished furniture to custom automotive painting. These new Artool Wood Grain FX Templates will give you all of the advantages that seasoned professional painters have trusted in for many years.
On the front of the package, you will find an easy-to-follow step-by-step instructional guide for creating natural wood grain faux-finished effects, so be sure to save the package! You can use a light or dark color combination of your choice to replicate a variety of wood grains needed for your project, and when connecting tabs are cut, you will see a Graining Template and a Knot Template in two sizes. Use them solo or in combination for the ultimate wood grain experience.

WOOD GRAIN FX GRAINING TEMPLATE
- When all tabs are cut on each size, this releases the Graining Template from the Knot Template. This tempalte is desinged to link wood grain horizontally or vertically -- it can be an endless repeat. By leaving gaps in various areas, you can fill in knots with the Knot Template or use only the Wood Grain section for an overall "knotless" appearance. The best realistic results are achieved when keeping your grain running in the same direction and the possibilities are endless by highlighting open spaces with Freehand airbrush lines joining the grain together. You have reached a place where your skill and imagination come in handy. Once a grain pattern is created, blend and fade transparent colors over the grain to match your chosen light or dark effect. Your creativity can replicate the look and feel of nearly any wood pattern combination by mixing various colors and sizes.
WOOD GRAIN FX KNOT TEMPLATE
- The Wood Grain Knot Template allows you to create totally realistic wood knots! Locate your desired knot configuration and airbrush through the know
either solo or layering in different sizes, creating an even more realistic and detailed "knotty" appearance. By twisting or flipping the template over you can achieve more depth and layering with the same knot. To create additional unique knot patterns, experiment with random placements. Also, the edges of this template can give your knots extended wood grain, allowing you to blend each knot flawlessly into your artwork.
