Some minor loss of mohair on tail, muzzle, etc. Has a rare working music box plays lullaby. Owned for years by a serious doll bear collector. Otherwise all intact and very good condition given its age! I am liquidating a three generation estate of fine antique rare items. One member was a serious doll/bear collector from this estate.     Description

    Extremely rare antique huge 20" Schuko teddy bear has dark brown mohair and is articulated. It is the Yes/No model activated by turning the tail, has an extremely rare music box which still plays a lullaby! These bears were made from circa 1920 to the 1950s. Uncertain when this one was made by Schuko. Highly collectible and rare to find in this condition. Given its age it has some minor issues to be expected. Some mohair loss at tail and muzzle, etc. at turnkey on back for music box from former use etc., paws have some holes, loss of one ear and the other needs to be restitched as detatching.  Otherwise, it's in very good condition given its age - no smoke/no pet house...was the favorite of a former member of a large three generation estate I am liquidating. She was a serious collector of fine antique dolls and bears. Long ago gently played with and then stored in cedar closet for many many years wrapped in flannel cloth. No smells.  It's a Yes/No mechanical Schuko teddy 20" bear which is activated by turning the tail for head movement. Articulated. Has a rare music box when turned on back of bear still plays a beautiful lullaby!  Articulated, gorgeous face, original eyes...a very handsome antique Schuko teddy bear! No tags nor other identification is noted. The former serious doll bear collector travelled all over the world in pursuit of her collection. This bear was her personal bear from her youth (she was close to 100 years old when she passed away). She treasured it and kept excellent care of it keeping this antique teddy bear carefully stored away from sun, no smoking home nor pets.  Please see photos, and ask questions as it is being sold in "as is and as found condition" and not returnable.  It would make a fine addition to your decor, antique teddy bear collection or gift someone special. Definitely rare and hard to find. Schuko antique bears are highly collectible and illustrated in many books and magazine articles.
